Saudi King admitted to the hospital

The 91 year old Saudi Arabian King Abdullah,has been admitted to the King Abdullaziz hospital on Wednesday for medical check up ,according to the royal court.

The king, whose age and frequent hospitalisation have raised concerns about the future leadership of the key oil producer, was admitted to the King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, a court statement carried by the official SPA news agency said.source

A 55 years old man ,Osaro,has been arrested by the men of  Edo state Police for raping his daughter who is nine years old.
His wife, Stella, reported to the police that Osaro had in the past impregnated her 17-year old daughter, and she had forgiven him.

INEC's 2015 presidential candidate's list released

The Independent National Electoral Commission has released the names of the presidential candidates and their running mates for  the 2015 presidential election.It is noted that out of 26 registered political parties in Nigeria only 11 submitted names of their candidates to the INEC for the race.Vanguard reports

This morning, there are reports that Indonesian search and rescue officials have confirmed that more than 40 bodies have been found in the sea, while a navy spokesman said teams had so far recovered a lot of bodies, plus a plane door and oxygen tanks.A footage of a floating dead body was broadcast in a centre set aside for the relatives of the passengers on board the ill fated plane and here here is how AFP described the situation.

Four armed robbers killed in Onitsha Anambra state-police

Police in Anambra state have successfully oiled an armed robbery and kidnap attempt in Onitsha,Anambra state killing four and arresting 12 in the said operation.

DPO slumps and dies in his Lagos office

A DPO , Nwoha Uzoma serving at Ijede police station in lagos state has been reported dead after locking himself up in his office according to his close associates.

Punch gathered that after he did not pick his calls, anxious relatives and policemen in the station broke the door open and saw his lifeless body on the floor.
 Uzoma, a Superintendent of Police, was formerly heading the Anthony Police Division, before he was posted to Ijede, in the Ikorodu area, early in December.
The deceased, who was married with children, was in his fifties.

Missing AirAsia plane update-It may be at the bottom of the sea

The search for the missing AirAsia plane which lost contact with the ground control is still ongoing and indications show that it could be at the bottom of the sea.The plane that left Indonesia was reported to have 162 passengers including 16 children dissapeared above indonesian seas on its way to Singapore.

According to Indonesia’s National Search and Rescue Agency chief said Monday :
 “Based on the coordinates given to us and evaluation that the estimated crash position is in the sea, the hypothesis is the plane is at the bottom of the sea,” Bambang Soelistyo told a press conference.

AirAsia plane with 162 passengers goes missing over Indonesian waters

An air plane belonging to AirAsia has been reported missing.The plane which lost contact with ground control had about 162 people on board.
The single-aisle Airbus A320-200 had an Indonesian captain and a French co-pilot, five cabin crew and 155 passengers, including 16 children and one infant, AirAsia Indonesia said in a statement. Among the passengers were three South Koreans and one each from Singapore and Malaysia. The rest were Indonesians.

Bring Back Our Girls Protesters Blocked From Presidential Villa

The group under the platform of Bring Back Our Girls which has been campaigning for the peaceful return of the 219 Chibok girls kidnapped by Boko Haram more that seven months ago were seen blocked from entering the access road leading to the presidential villa by men of Nigerian police numbering about 20 with their vehicles yesterday.
