Boko Haram sect hyjacked? See their fliers dropped around Adamawa

 According to the report.a Helicopter was seen flying around Adamawa state dropping fliers supposedly from a faction of the sect.The leaflets contain renunciation of the sect and apology messages to the people.
It is the second time in two weeks the Boko Haram sect has distributed flyers.
The first batch warned northerners not to go to the polls.
The message showed spellings and pronunciations that appeared Nigerien or Chadian and not Nigerian Hausa.

Fake Lottery operator arraigned by EFCC

A 26 years old Bassey Okhiria has been arraigned before a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for operating a fake lottery scheme.
The Anti-Graft agency said Okhiria through the fake scheme tried to dupe unsuspecting members of the public, adding that he is a member of a group operating from Ogun State.

Flying Eagle's bus crashed,one enjured

The bus conveying the Flying Eagle from the Tema Sports Stadium to their hotel  was envolved in a minor accident that left one person enjured.
Manu Garba’s boys defeated their Ghanaian counterparts 2-0 in an international friendly and were on their way to the M Plaza Hotel, when the VIP Marcopolo bus crashed into the main gate of the stadium.
No serious casualty was recorded, but Usman Hassan Saleh was hit by some of the broken glass and was attended to by the team doctor.
The team eventually left for their hotel and are expected back in the country on Thursday.

Defectors lose their seats in Niger state House of Assembly

Two Niger state House of Assembly members who defected to another party have lost their seats.
The lawmakers; Bashir Abdullahi Isa Lokogoma and Nazeer Abdullahi defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The seats were declared vacant by Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Adamu Usman. The two affected members were not allowed to speak, they were later ordered out by the Speaker and walked out by the Sergeant-at-Arms.

Lorry load of foreigners intercepted in Abia by Immigration officers

The Nigerian Immigration Service, Abia State Command, has intercepted a luxury bus conveying 112 passengers, including 42 foreigners at the Abia Tower Junction of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.
The suspects were traveling from Kano to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, when they were intercepted.
Comptroller of Immigration in charge of the state, Mrs. Augustina Opara, said the arrest was effected after her agency received a tip-off that a bus with suspected aliens were in the state.
She said, “After thorough investigations and screening of the occupants of the 52-seater luxury bus, 42 out of the 112 passengers were discovered to be without valid travel documents.
“Further investigations revealed that the foreigners were all nationals of Niger Republic. Other passengers found to be Nigerians have been released to continue with their journey to Port Harcourt.”

INEC card reader machine failed to work in Enugu during testing

The card reader machine meant for the coming general election failed to work while it was being tested in Enugu today.Journalists were invited by the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC to showcase the good working condition of its card readers, which have been deployed for the elections
The commission had invited journalists to showcase its preparedness for the election.
However, the exercise failed as the card reading machine could not work for over 30 minutes, a situation that left the audience embarrassed.
The  PVC of one of the journalists was inserted, after which that of a member of the Civil Society Organization was equally tried, but both failed the test.

Boy commits suicide at 17 shares photos online before jumping into river

All that glitters is not gold.Who would have thought that this young boy has any problem eating him up.
 He posted the pic on the left on instagram and wrote "I'm here" and on the pic on the right, he wrote "Smile. You've lived". 'I'm here' was him basically telling his followers that he'd arrived at the destination of his suicide. His final photo was a pic of his watch &he wrote "Time to see if my watch is waterproof" A few minutes after posting the pics and messages, he jumped from that rail you see in the pic into the Detroit River. His body was found a few hours later.

His name was Billy Watts and he was from Detroit. He'd suffered depression for many months which he openly talked about on instagram. He talked about how some people can't get out of depression no matter how much they try. This happened in October 2014. More after the cut..........

Horror:Corpse of rape victim dumped in Imo community

A nude corpse of a lady has been discovered in  Umunneato autonomous community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.Investigation revealed that the discovery was made a day after the world celebrated the famous Saint Valentine’s Day, at Okwu village.
An eyewitness, who spoke on grounds of anonymity, told Vanguard that a close look at the lady’s corpse revealed bruises, especially around the breasts and private parts.Graphic photos

Obasanjo reveals why he torn party membership card publicly

In a telephone interview the former President Olusegun Obasanjo granted Premium times,he revealed the reasons why he publicly torn his party membership card.He said that party members in his ward led by the ward Chairman, Mr Surajudeen Olajundoye paid him a visit that Monday to express their concern over his inactivity in the party, saying that his inaction has made them uncertain of their own political future in PDP. They also told him that they heard that the state party leadership was in the process of expelling him from the party.

Lawyer arraigned for N117m fraud by EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission,EFCC has arraigned a Lawyer for an alleged N117m fraud.This was revealed through a statement releases by the commission.Find it below......

"A legal practitioner, Barrister Babatunde Ojo, was on Monday, February 16, 2015 arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC before Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, on a 48-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence, forgery and issuance of dud cheques. Ojo allegedly used his company, Amberville Communications Limited, to obtain the sum of N117, 350, 000.00 (One Hundred and Seventeen Million, Three Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) from Mr. and Mrs. Mathew Awodiya of First Hebron Homes and Investment Limited in the guise of allocating 50 shops at HFP Eastline Shopping Complex, Ajah, Lagos, to them.

APC becomes majority in the House of Representatives

The defection of 6 members of People's Democratic Party,PDP in the House of Representatives has given the All Progressive Congress,APC the majority in the house.
The lawmakers, Robinson Uwak (Akwa-Ibom) and Mohammed Ibrahim (Jigawa) defected to the APC, Tobias Okwurio Chukwuemeka (Ebonyi) and Peter Ali (Ebonyi) moved to the Labour Party, Akpan Umoh (Akwa-Ibom) defected to Accord Party while Chineyen Eke (Abia) defected to APGA.

With the defections, the total number of APC members in the lower chamber now stands at 181 while the PDP members in the house is 156. Other parties in the house now share 23 seats, with SDP occupying 10, the Labour Party five, APGA four, PDM two, and the Accord Party two seats.
