Maiduguiri ,the capital of Bornu state, friday bomb attack was foild today as loud bomb explosions were heard in parts of the state.
It was quickly assumed by residents that the town was under attack again by the terrorist group, Boko Haram.punchng
It was discovered that some explosives were planted before dawn in a commercial area by suspected members of the terrorist group.
The terrorist group had wanted the area to be filled with people before detonating the bomb, but fortunately, it was discovered and the military were called in to prevent casualties.
The spokesman of the youth vigilante group, Jubrin Gunda, said there was no need for panic as the explosion heard was detonated by the military to forestall any casualties.
