The federal government has stated that it is making frantic efforts to end insurgency in the country and the military equipments are due for delivery this week to boost the fight against Boko Haram.President Goodluck Jonathan said this yesterday at the palace of the Emir of Ilorin,Alhaji Ibrahim Gambari when he paid him a courtesy visit in the course of his presidential campaign in the state.

The President stated that upon delivery of the weapons, the military in the next two weeks will be able to step down the issue of insurgency in the country.
He affirmed, “You have observed us for the past four years. Yes, we have security challenges relating to the Boko Haram saga, mainly in the North-East.

“Although their excesses extend to some parts of the North, like Abuja, Sokoto, Gombe and Kano, it is mainly in the North-East. We are working hard and we shall surely bring it to a halt.
“As far as the military is concerned, even as we are talking, we are expecting more platforms this week and next week.
“I believe that in the next two weeks or so, we will be able to move faster than we are moving.”

Other than security, the President observed that his government has done well in other areas like road construction.
He admitted that though work is still in progress, all over the world, no government solves all of its country’s problem in just four years.

“We have intervened in so many areas. Agriculture that touches the life of an ordinary Nigerian is one of the areas that we have been working very hard.
