Information emerging from the state chapter of the People's Democratic Party,PDP indicates that they have uncovered plans by the Rivers state Governor, Rotimi Amechi to sneak out of the state if the All Progressive party,APC fails to will the 2015 election.
This, the PDP argues is cowardly because it proves the outgoing governor as lacking the spirit of sportsmanship which is the hallmark of a good leader and politician.
Reacting to the development through a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the State party chairman, Jerry Needam, the PDP said Amaechi’s discomfort with the PDP governorship candidate, Chief Barr Nyesom Wike succeeding him and his preference to seek political asylum outside the country in the event of PDP’s sure victory raises a moral question on his integrity and claim for transparency.
According to the PDP, if he (Amaechi) has nothing to fear for which he wants his surrogate, Dakuku Peterside to cover up for him, there will be no need for the anxiety that has gripped him when the elections are yet to hold.
''This is simply suspect, the PDP reasons, warning that all Rivers people, contractors, creditors, consultants and business partners of Amaechi should take note as the PDP government is not ready to inherit any debts incurred under fraudulent and controversial circumstances when it has taken over office later this year'', PDP added.
