Ahmadu Ali Becomes Jonathan's Campaign Coordinator

Bare a week that the All Progressive Congress APC appointed Governor of Rivers state,Rotimi Amechi as 2015 presidential campaign national coordinator,the Peaple's Democratic Party has just announced their 2015 presidential campaign Director in the person of the former PDP's National chairman,Ahmadu Ali.

Elected PDP chairman during the tenure of former president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Dr Ali also served as Nigeria's education minister in the 1970s and was a senator in the Second Republic. He has now been named as the man responsible for handling President Jonathan's re-election campaign in a way that the current high commissioner to the UK, Dr Dalhatu Tafida did in 2011.


 Dr Ali was appointed yesterday after a meeting of the party's top hierarchy where it was also agreed not to talk to those who recently left the PDP to other political parties where they felt they could achieve their political aspirations. Among those who left after losing primary elections were a former Oyo State governor Chief Bayo Alao-Akala, who is now a member of the Labour Party; former minister of state for industry, trade and investment, Dr Samuel Ortom, who has joined the All Progressives Congress and a former national chairman of the party, Senator Bernabas Gemade.
