Has Destruction of Human Life Become Part of Us?

Has Destruction of Human Life
I was touched by the situation we are facing presently in Nigeria and decided to share my own opinion with you readers:

Its quite disheartnening to hear heart-aching stories of deaths ,explosions and massive burials on daily basis in this country. We wake up almost everyday with pictures of dead bodies and the news of countless number kidnapped staring in our faces.Flipping through the pages of newspapers and clicking away pages of websites reveal even more about this meyhem going on.

Pondering over all these happenings leaves me wondering why Nigeria has deteriorated to this level of human destruction. If it didn't happen in Gombe today ,its in Maiduguri,Kano,Bauchi or the rest of them.Where did we get it all wrong ?What has happened to the sensibilities our dear brothers and sisters who have taken up arms against themselves and their fellow human? Is there any solution in sight for this level of devastation that has changed the perception of so many towards human existence?

The big qiestion I always ask myself is this? Why is this crisis concentrated only on one side of this country,North East. Are they disadvantaged in the distribution of the resources of this country? or is it that those saddled with the responsibility of managing this funds have failed in their responsibilities of channelling them towards the right places for a better result?

Though I draw my answers most times from my personal encounters and interractions i had during my breif stay in this particular region.Personally, i will apportion a greater percentage of the blame on the religious leaders, past leaders as well as the present leaders in this region.Nobody should pretend that he or she doesn't know the level of illiteracy ravaging these youths that have become a tool in the hands of these insurgents. The orientation most of  them have towards life cannot support human life because its predicated on frustration, limited dreams and hopelessness.

Some may disagree with me but has anybody asked himself what the future of an 'Almajiri' is likely to be when he becomes an adult? This trend was left uncurtailed for decades of years and the society that bred such is now reaping the fruit of a very bad seed planted by those shifting the blames to those who are alliens in their domain.

This country doesnt deserve any of this no matter the angle we look at it.Nigeria ranks high in revenue generation to be able to handle its socio-economic and political problems. So much resources have been allocated in this region over the years but from the look of things,it was distributed among very few hands and millions left wallowing in abject poverty.

Northern past and present leaders should openly accept that they ignored the youths they were appointed or elected to protect their future. Also included in this group of people that laid the foundation of this cankerworm are the religious leaders who kept sidelining other teachings except Islamic teachings.
Education cannot be saparated from wise decision making and it starts from childhood to build till adulthood. However, what we are witnessing presently is the outcome of a smeared human understanding of issues as a result of a limited knowledge shrouded under the influence of extreme teachings of violent approach to life.

The solution that can be sustainable is this.Northern Islamic teachings have to be looked into by the stakeholders and see the areas that are controvertially violent and neccessary amendments incooperated in them.
Secondly,it should be mandatory for every youngman or woman in the North be encouraged to acquire at least primary school certificate just like most regions of this country .This campaign must be championed by the family and religious bodies because they are such institutions that have strong influence on the psychological, physical and spiritual angle of human life while the government at all levels especially the state should put the necessary infrastructure in place for its sustainability.

As we keep looking for the best option to approach this escalating situation, the future of the youths struggling with this disaster still has to be protected by everyone who has a vital role to play in order to achieve this.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA
