David Edevbie May Emerge PDP Consensus Governorship Candidate In Delta State

Indications are pointing to the fact that the stakeholders in Delta state PDP could have chosen the former principal secretary to the late President Umaru Yar Dua,David Edevbie as their consensus candidate in the february  2015 general election in the state.

Already, the Minister of Niger Delta, Steven Oru, has been asked to inform President Goodluck Jonathan of the decision of the Delta PDP stakeholders.source

Edevbie, who is a former Commissioner for Finance under James Ibori, hails from Ughelli in Delta state.

It was gathered that the decision of Delta stakeholders to adopt Edevbie was as a result of the refusal of the twelve aspirants from Delta North to step down for one another.

Already, the governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, has dropped his senatorial ambition to enable peace to reign in the state.

Edevbie was Thursday adopted as the consensus candidate by the Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU) and all other aspirants from the Delta south and Delta central zones were asked to step down for Edevbie.

In the new calculation, the anointed candidate of the Delta state governor, Tony Obuh, may eventually be the running mate to Edevbie.

According to inside sources in PDP, "the hands of the governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, who is determined to ensure power transfer to Delta North, were tied because of the refusal of the 12 aspirants to adopt a consensus candidate.
